種子單元 (上篇) The Chapter of SEEDS (PART I)

本作品是一個課程上的分享 主要教授對象是台灣國民小學二年級的 台北市的學生們 上課的內容根據單元名稱是「種子」 This piece of work is a sharing of lessons done for 2nd Graders in Taipei. Title of their chapter at the current stage is "THE SEED(s)." 以圖片顯示重要英語單字,並請學生們在課本內頁將圖片及相關於本單元授課內容之單字抄寫下來。 Important vocabularies are shown to the students who are requested to copy this picture and wording inside their textbook which contains no English.  In order for the students to explain these words correctly while maintain their linguistic fluency, gestures are designed to ensure they understand the meaning when they say such sentences in English. 為確保學生們在使用這些英語詞句、語彙的正確性質, 以動作搭配字彙、語句等多方呈現,讓學生們確認可以了解意義。 For the students to successfully demonstrate their comprehension of such linguistic knowledge, they are encouraged to act out the sentences in drama styles.  為了讓學生們順利運用此種詞句,進行更多練習,學生們經由鼓勵,在課室中進行相關詞句的「戲劇」演出。 Next, students are led to grow seeds by being into several different groups.  接著,各班學生分別被分組後,開始種植「種子」。  Daily, they're responsible ...

笑到睡不著嗎? Is It Too Much Fun To Fall Asleep?

The English part is explained after the Mandarin Chinese is read inside the video, in accordance with the wording here in this article.  本文以國語朗誦,輔以英語解釋於影像檔中謝謝。 The video is merely HALF WAY THROUGH  本影片屬於本文之「上集」 「重回」小學環境教書,而且是在台灣而非世界其他各地的小學之後,我「變得」愛「講台語」。原因嗎?  校園裡面會有台語的相關標語,看來非常親切……隔壁班老師上課的時候會有相關課程的時候,學生們和老師的台語唸讀聲音,就會飄到我的教室…… 讓人要不說都很難。 小學,在台灣的小學,對我來說,就是一個迷人的寶藏盒,每天都可以像一個孩子一樣發現嶄新的事物…… 到底我是原來就這樣、還是「重返」小學才這樣呢? 又是一個我自己回答不出的問題……而,我確定自己不是從小就「敢於」提問的小學生,想當然爾,應該是中間的歷程形塑了我「這麼敢」和自己提問吧?!  那麼,高年級學生們快畢業了,該給他們什麼做留念呢? 想到過去閱讀時看過的某個活動,讓學生們來試試看吧!! 就這樣的,為了給這些學生們一個畢業紀念,所以請六年級即將畢業的學生們寫一些同學們的長處,其中有一位學生被別人這樣稱讚著: 「睡覺能力強,能在任何情況睡著。」 這位被同學們說「非常會睡覺」的學生雖然鮮少在我的課堂中真正睡著,但聽說被同學們公認「長得很帥」的他幾乎每節課都昏昏欲睡。 乍看這樣的「長處」之下不覺有他,畢竟的仔細想想還頗有一番不同滋味湧上心頭的。 怎麼說呢? 第一次在高空中服務遇到長程航班,飛機搖來晃去,如果不休息在下一段服務時間恐怕眼冒金星,所以務必稍作休息;雖然有被劃分為組員休息區的區域可以休息,不過椅子無法平躺,機艙聲音極大,不管就任何知覺上面而言都是「難以」入睡的景況。 硬著頭皮還是得睡一睡才行。睡到稍微習慣之後,感覺如果在盪秋千上面要睡著,也不是那麼難了:同樣的左搖右晃啊~~~ 為了服務之事,第一次進到牛糞所做的房子裡面睡覺時,無電力可言的地帶處處只能藉著月光或者星空時,在「牛糞房」的「室內」,更是深手不見五指,於是不管三七二十一,倒頭就睡,夜半時分雖然有些怪怪的感...

Is it because COCO means YEH (in Mandarin Chinese pronunciation) and NUT means ZI (also in Mandarin Chinese pronunciation), since COCO is referred to as YEH-ZI in Mandarin Chinese?" This one single question makes all the students laugh and laugh until someone fell onto the ground. Looking at them, I do not really have a clue as why they can be so merry in my classroom...  和外籍同事教書時,我請我的學生們跟著我一起詢問懂得華語的外師: 「為什麼椰子的英語是COCONUT呢? 難道,COCO是「椰」,而NUT是「子」嗎?」 這個提問弄到全班笑得人仰馬翻,而我自己完全不知道笑點在哪裡…… 看看外師,他也笑著,如此一來我更是百思不得其解。 There’s a conference I attend.
