無止息的延續與關愛 CONTINUATIONS OF CARE AND LOVE

前言 FORWARD


在台灣的大學裡面於英語系授課時所結識的學生們,裡面有幾位因為比較清楚我的步履,常常提及「期待老師到大型會場去演講」之事。
While teaching in colleges in Taiwan, a few students whom I've known better are clearer about footsteps I have taken. They often express the idea that "We'd like to see you stand there on some sorts of stage to talk to a huge audience."


我不大喜歡出風頭,可能來自於從小參加比賽、作國慶司儀、於航空公司代表其他客艙空服人員發言、在電台播音、在重要場合擔任主持工作等等歷程,已經受到矚目,毋須錦上添花之故。
I do not like to be on the spotlight. It is perhaps the result of my appearances in countless contests or importance occasions ever since I was a little girl. I feel there is no need to add another crown in my "memory box." 


而如果上台,在過去奪下全國性質英語即席演講比賽種種名次殊榮的時間點,我很喜歡先唱幾句歌,再開始演講。當時的我所唱的,都是別人作詞作曲的歌,我也沒有想過有朝一日,自己會作詞作曲……
When talking about speaking in front of the others, I liked singing before I began a speech in the national impromptu English speech contests which I was sent to compete. Winning impressive titles by and by, I had enjoyed singing a few lines of songs created by other people before I formally began my own speech. Of course, back then, I would never have imagined that one day, I would create my own songs...


而如果上台,假若使用的是此篇文章中(稍後)所分享的歌曲,我應該會自己感動到唱不下去……說真的,我沒有想過會被自己的歌感動,繼而想起「怎麼能夠唱出這樣的歌」的種種念頭……
When it's about talking to the others, in the public, from singing first, if it is this song (which is shown underneath this FORWARD) that I'd sing, I am sure I can be so touched that I'd become speechless.

Why am I touched? Well, the song itself is too beautiful to be true.

"HOW & WHY on earth would I be producing such a song?" I'd ask myself...

 

如果不是因為在生命的歷程裡面與利他主義相迎,徹底擁抱,今天的我,不知道在何種暗淡的角落……
Shall I never encounter ALTRUISM in my career, in my life, and embrace such notions with, wholistically, today, I wonder which dark corners I would hide myself inside with...

Therefore, with much gratitude, I am sharing all the following with you, the turnarounds plus all the ups and downs in serving the others. I truly anticipate your fulfillment in life as well so that you would also enjoy sharing with the others the best of you!!!



I understand there MUST be troubles anywhere we go, anything we'd like to do; however, let us embrace this life to the fullest to the grandest level possible so that each and every of us helps one another to uplift not just every other person but mainly, ourselves. 
我完全可以想像在我們所到之處、我們所行之事中,一定有未盡完整之處,每個人一定也有遇到瓶頸及挫折的時候,但就讓我們彼此互相提攜、互助合作,以使得我們的力量不僅僅在結合之後,可以讓更多人的精神及物質世界攀升,並且更重要的,讓我們自己也來到生命中欣欣向榮的桃花源!!!

This is only the first version of a song I have favored so much that once I listen to it, 
all different clips of memories surfaced in my mind, 
with me being brought to this world to seemingly chance-meet all those along the journey of my life. 
這是一首目前創作出來,仍處在「初初版本」的歌曲,之所以是初版,
乃由於歌曲仍然可以變化,更乃由於創作及錄製完畢後自己聆聽,
進而由於發現裡面恰巧來到這樣的生命、恰巧與諸多人士萍水相逢的動人之處而愛不釋手。

歌曲或將正式取名為 「水月鏡花」

A principal working in the elementary school asks whether BRAS to be collected need to be reused by the females there or for other purposes in Africa
I answered her (and the others) via a recording message.

A skillful music teacher I have known inquires when she donates many BRAS, what happens later...
I told her that since some local females also need assistances, we may utilize the "materials" collected for the betterment of their lives as well over here in Taiwan. 



Here, a male retired principal asks why the males living in the poverty level around mountains in east Africa need ties at all. In my reply to him, I talk about how this particular principal's focus on SERVICE LEARNING is something giving me much strength to dive into my career path. Further, I explain that years before, my Dad's unused TIES or to-be-thown-away ones but were quite new were brought to east Africa for the middle class who received them as gifts happily, aware that those used to belong to my Dad, or that he donated them to these people. 

In addition to the ties, I mention in those regions of east Africa where I/we go and serve, how areas marked as A to D in the following parts, locals have benefited.

如果不能為他們突破開創生計之道
他們的處境困難將變本加厲


由於實作上的挑戰度極高
包含人力物力財力等各方面
所以僅僅是計劃先做試行
未來不斷修正



而過去的基礎不曾斷裂:

種植蔬果在水源可取得的情況下
他們自給自足甚至可以銷售
此節如若持續甚為之佳
尤其耐旱植物生長和食用方面增加營養成分⋯⋯
 GROWING VEGETABLES and/or FRUITS when water is sufficient and soil is suitable 
can ensure the locals have enough nutrients to consume or even to promote these fruits 
and vegetables in the local market.

Aside from the existing, developing ideas of applying used materials for 
some artwork, tasks on how all forms of art such as music, drama and so on 
can be brought to the locals' world to empower them are still in continuations.

參  更多關於女用內衣及男性領帶的「服務軌跡」     III  MORE ABOUT THE COLLECTION OF BRAS AND TIES


Like ties, females' underwear had its story with us. 
一如上面所形容到的領帶,女性的內衣也與我們的服務有著密切的關聯。



女用內衣,過去曾經由一同出隊的各個大專院校學生們,分批帶到東非山中與當地人士分享,那是台灣的一位優秀學生的母親所贈送,學生的父母們與外銷歐洲的廠商們所購,各種大小均有,數量龐大,以當時航空公司行李限制的狀況來說無法一人攜帶,所以由大專學生隊員們甚至必須分批攜至當地。
FEMALES' UNDERWEAR would be a kind of item sent to the ones in Africa by parents of an outstanding college student of mine. The student's parents ordered a lot of them from businesses exporting underwears to Europe from Taiwan. Due to the massive amount, college students of mine who went along to east Africa would have to carry them during different moments of the same journey. 



Similar to the OASIS PROJECT issued quite a while ago for those (the nomadic) living there on the semi-arid land to begin grow crops to feed themselves (other than their original options of milk, food made by corn powder, and a bit goat or cow meat occasionally after slaughtering their own livestock) and/or sell them to make a living, these ideas making those locals' lives better are always in their continued forms generating more solid forms to ignite more flames to make things better. 
一如過去為了當地(遊牧民族)人群的生計、考量他們(只飲奶水、食用玉米粉作成的固定食品、山區居民偶有些許自己所飼之羊、牛肉等)的飲食習慣,而提出之「綠洲計畫」,鼓勵他們耕作的相關事宜般,這所有的計畫運行過程均未曾停息,只是透過時間及空間的澄清而愈發明朗。



Personally, I am aware I am not extremely capable: I am simply doing what I can do. What I've never expected, though, would be that the dive into the unknown of serving the others have helped them as well as myself to evolve into better human beings who see the power of continuation, dedication, care, and love. Since I will depart from Taiwan, visit east Africa, then to north America this summer, I expect that all the ties and bras collected and arranged will be brought back to Taiwan, in the end, as aesthetic as possible. On this canvas of life, we all help one another to create such pictures that are forever etched as that saying goes "FROM ACORNS MIGHTY OAKS GROW." 
就我個人的能力來說,我不認為自己有過於常人之處,只是讓我自己感到訝異的,是一頭鑽入了服務的環節後,源源不絕的萍水相逢為我帶來了無窮無盡與他人一同探索生命意涵、翻轉命運的過程。而今夏,由於行程上會自台灣出發、至東非服務、再將服務學習的歷程帶到北美先進地帶進行相關交流活動,所以我也特別期待這些內衣及領帶經由或許從台灣開始,在東非為中間點,在北美為終點的各方力量結合,會產生出怎樣的作品及形成何種火花。

愚公移山初始原本如四不像般難以理解,然而經過了歲時的累積而產生的交錯圖騰,一如人間處處風情萬種,楚楚動人。




With much honor, I am proud to be participating in the process all along. I am also very honored to see all those who have taken part in the journey, no matter where they are from, have blossomed because of these wonderful works done for the others and for ourselves. 
對於我能夠自始至終目睹所有參與者,也包含我自己的本身的變化的事實,除了無限感動及感恩之外,我幾乎瞠目結舌,因為,親眼目睹不管是當地人、不管是從世界各地參與其中的人士的轉變,正面而向陽的力量,在在使我自己期許個人的作為更加精采可期而眼界大開,於焉認為世界神奇到無以言表……



People are speechless to see I am welcomed at different places. To me, there is nothing to be bragging about, as I am willing to care a bit for more, the world naturally bestows me a bit more, and everybody can do the same when that decision of being altruistic to the core is made. In fact, they will do a lot better than such a small potato like me!!!
人們常常因為我不管到哪裡都受到歡迎而也備感驚奇,對我來說,此事的本身並無任何驚人之處,原因在於我只是多做了一點點事情,而如果任何人在決策的過程中曾經選擇「無條件利他」這樣的康莊大道,那麼,他們必定將會比之於我,有更加亮眼而出眾的表現,畢竟我是如此微不足道!!!

採行線上模式、輔以在場教師指導

將可輕易讓各地人士同步參與

This project is expected to be run in the third quarter of 2024. Every party in the world is welcome to join suit. As long as we can find such time to mingle on-line, with ideal educators going hand in hand when the students anywhere are around, things can look rosy.

Students will be guided to study/learn stories about how people in different places of the world helping each other.

The Existing English Schoolwork

 

Students can be guided to learn contents of their textbooks well, particularly with the assistances from the teacher(s) working for this project as well as from more advanced or senior ones so that peer-teaching can be simultaneously formed, creating a more harmonious campus with people wishing to work collaboratively and help each other.

學生們既有的英語或雙語課程

 

在學生們既有的英語或雙語課程範圍內,教師加以輔助指導,並採用peer-teaching法門,在「同儕的正向影響」的環境之下,不但經由教師()的加強指導而增進學習效益,並與同年級但程度較優秀的學生、或者學長學姊多加練習,加強團結、合作、互助能力,且創造出更加溫馨的校園氛圍。

Interests & Hobbies

 

Students can learn “hobbies” like chess, emergency procedures and so on through English to boost their willingness to learn more English.

 

興趣及嗜好的培養

 

學生們可透過英語學習而習得如西洋棋、急救等知能,加深個人興趣、嗜好之陶冶契機。

Students’ Bilingual News Program

 

Students can have their own “students’ bilingual news program” at noon hours beginning from one session per week for those well-trained “anchors” to broadcast bilingual cultural and educational news stories they have learned in the club sessions. After listening to the news stories, majority of the students can be encouraged to develop afterthoughts and questions. Based on these, students can also be encouraged to act as leaders in world organizations representing different nations for an investigation of such nations, their relations, and how international community really works.

語文能力出眾的學生們可以透過訓練,在校內午間時段播報社團時間所談及的故事,促成「兒童雙語文教新聞時間」,其他大部份的校內學生亦可透過獎勵或競賽等機制,進行更進一步的後續討論、發表等。

透過鼓勵,學生們亦可扮演各國代表的角色,在舞台上發表各國分別之狀況,以做為了解國際現勢的基石。

Little United Nations

 

Based on these, students can also be encouraged to act as leaders in world organizations representing different nations for an investigation of such nations, their relations, and how international community really works.

經由以上的種種布局,透過鼓勵,學生們亦可扮演各國代表的角色,在舞台上發表各國之相同與相異狀況,以做為了解國際現勢的基石。

From knowing such stories, English vocabularies and sentences inside, as well as to present stories everywhere, students can improve their English.

透過了解世界中的各種各樣故事,並且學會在台上報告這些故事,學生們會增進他們的英語能力。

Loving Kindness

 

From what students have learned inside the club, Students can execute how to appreciate things/people/our society in our daily lives by making artworks such as cards to show our appreciation to people in our society like cab drivers, police officers, firefighters, bank clerks—namely, people from all walks of life.

培養關懷之心

 

透過相關故事的學習及了解,以及故事中的英語字彙與句法之研究,學生們可以針對台灣本地之環境進行更加深入的了解,練習感恩、付出,透過手做美勞(如卡片等)來表達對社會各階層人士(如計程車司機、員警、消防人員等)之謝忱。

Collaborations

 

Working with and learning from individuals in different sectors can be crucial for students’ future, like students can meet university students focusing on handling service-oriented clubs. With those doing service learning or voluntary actions, university students may wish to guide our students the ways college students would like to.

互助合作

 

與各個公部門、私人企業、慈善組織等等學習,有助學生未來發展。例如,在校之小學生可與目前或過去在大學服務性質社團服務之大學生互動,學習他們在服務性社團的服務模式。同時亦可造訪大學之服務性社團,或與大學服務性社團連結,讓此種社團中之大專院校學生有機會透過和小學學生之互動,而增加利他、慈愛之心的展現,彼此學習,相輔相成。

Donation

 

Investigate whether from students’ standpoint, certain donation actions can be rallied, for example, to collect sneakers for students in foreign nations at mountainous areas where such pupils really need sneakers to walk, for cabin crew from airlines to bring these to certain localities on their overseas hubs for the needed to gather them, or if proper, for students to box leftovers of lunch during weekdays for the homeless and so on.

從學生之角度調查是否可能辦理任何捐助物資之行動,比如由於某國度之小朋友上學時,因為必須爬山又無鞋可穿,是否可由小朋友們發起收集同儕們運動鞋、請航空公司客艙服務人員飛行時帶往當地的行動呢?

 

又或,學生們是否可以將營養午餐所剩之未動餐食打包,將其捐贈給無家可歸之流浪人士呢?

Global Digital Connection

 

Digitally, students can link with people from other regions of the world, poor or rich alike and build networks through such connections on-line, while the topics discussed about can be further organized or negotiated.

國際社會線上連結

 

就線上角度而言,學生們可與其他富有或貧窮區域單位進行連線、溝通等,而所討論之議題將再行磋商。

Cultural Exchange

 

Internationally, after on-line exchange of ideas, there may be places students, their parents, the rest such as faculty members, teachers, retired teachers, family members of teachers and/or family members from Xing Ya can visit for real interactions, chess contests, other performances and so on, particularly English drama created by our own students regarding their daily events/funny sides of school life etc.

實際造訪國際社會中的小夥伴們

 

就全球待有一定期間之關係建立後,彼此可建立互訪機制,成員可包括學生、學生家長、學校教職員等;學生若至校外訪問時則可於異國之校園進行交流活動,其中可包含下西洋棋、(與學生在課堂中設計之與他們校園生活相關之有意義、有活力的)戲劇表演活動等。

 

 

This proposal is based on the issues from students we have observed. What are their issues? They do not really know how to greet people or to show people their respect. Furthermore, they are afraid of talking to foreigners on their own.

本企劃案根據國小學生們現存狀態而設計。

 

目前的學生們有什麼狀態呢?

學生們時而忽略應與他人打招呼,或者應對他人表達尊敬之意;除此之外,他們對於與外國人溝通,顯得在表達時易於怯場。

This project is run in Taipei City; learners are public servants without the real settings to use their English proficiency. 

We constantly welcome any groups of people from the public, private, and third sectors to join suit for 

an exploration altogether in the world of English acquisition

Every time you gain certain knowledge from us, we will give the equivalent of knowledge to more of those in poverty worldwide whom we have already assisted through the years.

Purposes and Motivations of This Project: We would like to share what we have to make the world and all societies better places. Understanding that all can be confronted with that much anxiety to talk in front of people in a mother tongue that is not easy, Mandarin Chinese, or in the lingua franca, English, a common language worldwide, we would like to offer people such glimpses of confidence so that such confidence can be transformed to the care and warmth given to the others.   

本計畫之目的及背後動機:我們希望參照世上許許多多成功的助人案例,並且認知人與人的溝通在科技受到衝擊的時代,愈來愈不容易,而本來在學理上就造成人類極大焦慮感的「公開場合發表」、或者「公開場合使用英語」,有日漸讓更多人充滿無力感的趨勢。透過這樣的方案,我們希望更多人在各處充滿面對未來的信念與方向感,因此加惠更多他人。

We are determined to make language(s) learning or presenting one’s self in front of the others in such a lingua franca, English, and/or Mandarin Chinese as a native or foreign language alike more meaningful, with impact, while learners have a lot of fun, esp. as empirical studies have shown, to express ideas in front of a crowd can be intimidating. We are here to alleviate that burden by utilizing effective educational pathways to mingle such language(s) acquisition processes or presenting anyone him/herself with art, drama, rhythms and so on tailoring to the needs of our target groups.

 

您可以透過專業的課程設計、有意思的學習與互動方式,透過各種有意思的藝術、戲劇、歌謠等助力,於公眾前較舒緩地展現自己的母語(中文/華語)或者英語能力,讓在人前表達自我、或者說說英語,不再是個夢魘。

Please note we also plan to make projects available where everyone from all walks of life and every corner of the world with access to the internet and digital devices can learn something wonderful together. Let us have some more time cultivating that direction please.
