「泡芙老師:可是我沒有西方的朋友,該怎麼辦? 」 "Ms. (or Teacher) Hope, What If I Do Not Have Any Friends In The Western World?"

教育界的前輩們常常告訴HOPE

「我們最感到灰心的,是學生們愈來愈不會表達想法,應該是因為3C產品的充斥,學生們看來很機靈,可是,常常在表達事情的時候,想法片片斷斷,無法出口成章……」


I am often told by some experienced teachers that 

"What can be the most frustrating is that students are with inferior ability in terms of expressing themselves. Perhaps it is a result of the digital devices. Nowadays when it comes to students' expressions of thoughts, their verbal or written production can be in fragments which do not make any sense at all."

另一方面則有學生請問Hope,

「泡芙老師,妳怎麼能夠布置(即「安排」)那麼有意思的課堂活動,讓我們不但學習課本上的知識,還有其他有趣的東東呀?」


On the other hand, one student asked me "How is it possible that you can arrange different class activities while making sure we have learned things from the textbook?" 




有鑑於此,我總希望在課堂活動當中呈現更多元的氣氛,讓學生真正培養良質的人格和可貴的能力。

Due to all these, I often expect myself to make students well-cultivated in both their personality and ability. 



就這樣的在低年級的課程單元中,課本內容談到節慶、助人等,應對課程內容,Hope自己把歌曲創作出來後(請見上面連結中歌詞及唱法),逐步讓學生學會國語及英語的意義,並在這之中,安排課室活動,請學生表述一下「西方感恩節快到了,請問你/妳想感謝的人是誰?」

In the lower graders' textbook, there is a lesson talking about festivals, celebrations, and helping the needed. To match with the lesson, I have created a song (which can be heard by clicking the link) for the students to learn step by step. Meanwhile, I asked students to express that 

"In the society of the western world, a few such nations would be celebrating Thanksgiving very soon. Please tell us whom you are grateful for."



One student with very large eyes but likes to frown a lot came to me and asked,

一位有著水汪汪大眼睛,但非常喜歡皺眉頭的學生來到我的面前問道:

「泡芙老師:可是我沒有西方的朋友,該怎麼辦? 」  


 "Ms. (or Teacher) Hope, What If I Do Not Have Any Friends In The Western World?" 



During moments like this, I often think back about the meaning of education, that we MUST be kind enough to share with the others the knowledge we have, instead of mocking at the others. Further, a hidden mission lies inside any context that any form of anxiety can be erased due to our ways of interpreting various issues happening to us, for the words of a person rings very true 

"A day cannot be perfect, but there must be something perfect in a day."

在這樣的時刻之間,我常常思考的是教育的意義到底是什麼呢? 

我們總是必須在最恰當的時刻,以優質的方式,將某種人、事、物的意涵傳遞出去,但又不顯得我們是高傲的、他人是無知的。

這是一種藝術,更是一種學問。


於是我想到一句外國人說的話「不可能有哪一天是完美無暇的,可是每一個日子裡面,一定有些分分秒秒,會讓我們能夠享受在那魔幻時刻裡面。」



Smiling, I gently explained to the student the real meaning of the sentence, resulting the student going back to her seat to consider about her answer with a happy face. 

於是,我溫言良語和學生解說著題目的本意,使得這名學生開始想著怎麼表述自己要感謝的人,顯現出開開心心的面容。
