Indonesian Journey 2026

PRELUDE

The Knight Club is established (as a non-profit and non-government organization legally under the rules of government of Taiwan) with the purpose of promoting communication and interaction among people of different communities living in different nations, with the ultimate goal of achieving global harmony. The word “KNIGHT” refers to the chivalric spirit of justice and selflessness of most knights from the Middle Ages.

As all administrative members of our association serve voluntarily without receiving any salary, we do not maintain an official website. However, through years of collaboration with different organizations and entities worldwide, we have built slightly comprehensive, if not yet extensive, global networks. The activities we organize are not “tour groups,” nor do we operate as a “travel agency.”

Therefore, for those who wish to participate in our activities through donation and thus become “International Service Volunteers,” or "NIGHTs," please pay special attention to the following:

Our practices are non-profit in nature. Participation in the activities we organize is entirely voluntary, based on individuals’ willingness to contribute donations before they take part in the humanitarian efforts in respective nations. There is absolutely no compulsion, coercion, or obligation of any kind. Participants are kindly asked to purchase their own returned flight tickets and to arrive at the designated location, preferably, within the specified timeframe to ensure smooth coordination of transportation and accommodation arrangements. Participants are also kindly reminded to purchase all necessary insurance coverage prior to departure to ensure the safety and protection of themselves and their families, including personal and property (such as luggage) security. To prevent confusion or panic in the event of an emergency, families wishing to bring minor children or elderly members are kindly requested, whenever possible, to have legal guardians and the elderly’s adult kids travel together as part of the group.

Since the age range of participants in such a program can vary significantly, the itineraries are designed with consideration for the needs of children and elderly participants. Accordingly, the schedule follows a format similar to a flexible independent trip (or a flight-and-hotel package), rather than a tightly scheduled or intensive tour program. Free time and personal activities may be arranged according to the preferences of each participant and their accompanying family members and/or friends during their stay. However, if an individual’s desired itinerary differs significantly from that of the majority, any additional expenses arising from such arrangements shall be borne by the participant. None of the organizations established in Taiwan or the overseas partner institutions have any responsibility or obligation to cover these additional costs on behalf of the volunteers.

The tentative itinerary for the 2026 “International Service Volunteer,” the equivalent of KNIGHT program in Indonesia is planned to consist of roughly 80% general sightseeing plus shopping, and 20% volunteer activities. At this stage, participants are in the wish to arrive Bali, Indonesia, on February 8 or 9, 2026 and stay there until around Chinese Lunar New Year’s Eve, Feb. 16 2026, or one day before that. Those who do not need to spend the Lunar New Year in Taiwan—or who are unable to arrive following the week of February 8 and instead wish to make use of the Lunar New Year holiday period to join the program—are also most welcome.

A distinctive feature of this trip is the occasional possibility of  accommodation with local middle-class families, offering participants the chance to experience authentic cultural exchange. For those who prefer NOT to stay in private homes at all and wish to stay ONLY in hostels and/or hotels, please let us know in advance.

In conclusion, all detailed itinerary can be adjusted to accommodate participants’ individual preferences and circumstances, in keeping with our joint goals to foster meaningful international cultural exchange amongst different groups of people.

Beginning from this journey to Indonesia in Feb. 2026, each individual making a donation as part of the above-mentioned “International Service Volunteer” program will contribute an amount calculated daily, as USD 100 or TWD 3,000 per person per day covering meals, accommodation, and transportation. Once you have confirmed your participation and length of stay, please donate the TWD amount to the “Knight CLUB” account with the photo attached; this NON-Profit and NON-Government organization is legally registered and approved by the Ministry of the Interior in Taiwan: after you have donated the necessary amount in NTD, kindly inform the existing long-term volunteers you know of regarding your donation. As the Association currently does not maintain a U.S. dollar account, those who wish to make payment in USD are requested to please kindly make contact with the existing long-term volunteers directly for assistance.

All donated funds will be used in a “MATCHING” manner to support long-term adult volunteers from our partner organizations in different countries, enabling them to lead academically outstanding youths from economically disadvantaged families on educational trips. These trips are modeled after successful programs were held in the past, and these trips allow the selected teenagers to visit areas within their own countries—such as lowland regions or urban centers they have never been to—to experience different lifestyles and environments, engage with more people, broaden their horizons, and build self-confidence.

The term “MATCHING” means that for each 2026 BALI KNIGHT participant in the February 2026 Indonesia program, through his/her donation, s/he will directly sponsor one academically outstanding teenager from economically disadvantaged families living in developing nations where our sister organizations are located on an inspiring and enriching journey of personal and cultural growth. In the past, we held similar activities with fruitful outcome, as participants can gain better perspectives and confidence after interacting with people whom they otherwise would not be able to interact with.

If this pilot initiative proves successful in 2026, future programs will be developed to provide opportunities for these financially challenged outstanding teenagers to travel abroad, perhaps even to Taiwan. Enriching the individuals' worldview and understanding of the world can be important for such people whom have almost no opportunity to travel overseas.

E  Every 2026  BALI  KNIGHT participant is encouraged to share with the locals in Indonesia his/her professional know-how. Because of the linguistic barrier, this part is often quite challenging, as most of the people are quite humble, long-term volunteers from any of the sister organizations will present every KNIGHT on his/her behalf at different occasions when necessary, so as to boost more cultural and community exchange!

Items suggested to be brought—swimming gear(s), summer wears, and every item Knight feels like to donate to the economically disadvantaged local families and/or students.

Please double check your luggage allowance after booking the flights. There are no requirements as what a KNIGHT should bring.

Locals who are volunteers and middle class will also be delighted to receive any gift from any of the 2026 BALI KNIGHT participants as souvenirs.

Please Note

**Places Numbered from ONE to TWELVE may be altered due to the then circumstances.

上項編號從ONETWELVE(標為紫紅色部份)會因實際狀況有所變動而變動

**For daily accommodations, to provide visitors a more different Baliese experiences, the organizers are still discussing about the details. It is likely participants will be staying in hotels, operated by the local hoteliers, and local families like the middle-class Rotarians who welcome guests from Taiwan wholeheartedly, unless the participants insist staying at local hotels is a MUST, preferring not to stay with local families. Currently, at the category of Hotel or Overnight Spent At, the pictures are only for references, indicating a rough picture of the local regions where people will be spending time at.

** Aside from ONE to TWELVE, there are still a few other plans the organizers both in Taiwan and Bali would like to add and they are listed below.

*****A visit to a local college more downtown Bali to experience what college life is like there

*****Some understanding of the Rotary Club holding different projects assisting locals’ lives there in Bali Island and internationally

*****A visit to an international school in Bali to understand how the school is operated and what the students are learning

**People donate money to the official bank account of the Knight Club in exchange for a journey overseas if they shall wish. This is out of a family’s or an individual’s free will. The organizers cannot take the responsibility of unexpected incidences taking place such as accidents. Therefore, participants are kindly reminded to purchase insurance products prior to the journey in order to protect themselves.

**People aged above the legal age of retirement in Taiwan, namely, 65, are considered older generations by the organizations holding this activity. If these people choose to participate in the program listed above, family members of such older people not following the journey listed above are kindly reminded to care for their parents or grandparents traveling with us via digital devices etc.

**Minors joining our journey, unless accompanied by parents or legal guardians, will be arranged to spend more time, even when it comes to accommodation, with people who are younger or much older than these minors, like their grandparents’ or parents’ generation, specifically not necessarily with people their age group, as through the years, we have found minors really cannot control themselves from using the digital devices for video games and endless chats with friends still in Taiwan, leading them to be sleepless during the night hours, becoming very exhausted during the day time!!! Moreover, minors may be “left with the local students and teachers” in their classrooms, depending on the age of these minors, so that they will have the opportunity to communicate with the locals via their mutual language, English, thus to polish the minors’ linguistic skills.

**Daily, there will be, under practical frame matching with the programs designed, a few sessions of Mandarin Chinese, English, and Indonesian linguistic applications for the participants to savor the beauty of each and every language. It is the hope that through such an experience, the participants will be able to get in touch with the vibe of international exchange!

** The above content represents a tentative itinerary prior to the journey held in Feb. 2026. The organizers reserve the right to make adjustments to any details at any time. We kindly ask all participants and supporters for their understanding, and we appreciate your patience regarding any imperfections.

上開均為二○二六年寒假峇里島暫訂行程內容,主辦單位保有隨時變更相關細節的權益,煩請參與活動的各界善心人士多多體諒;
