An Examination of My Path in the Field of Education
During one of our meetings lately, a much
respected, retired principal mentioned about the qualities a much-refined
educator should possess.
Perhaps the qualities an educator should
own can be defined by different people with varied notions.
As educators ourselves, we often find it is
impossible to alter the learners’ mindset, their capabilities to absorb new
knowledge, or their family situations. Nevertheless, what we can do is to be
able to change certain people’s ways of thinking and their intentions during
the process of our accompanying them while we learn altogether.
Because there are people who cannot be
changed at all, as educators, we gradually grasp our limitations.
When we see those younger learners change themselves
positively due to the impact done by various adults, we have to admit that the
adults are identical—that grown-ups alter themselves for the better or the
worse depending on people they have associated with.
During such processes, the most beneficial
issue an educator can instill into the learners would be those endless best
wishes and boundless prayers in which, hopefully, the learners can find their
senses of directions and their respective but maybe connected brighter future.
