尋找一束馨香 Find that Ray of Hope
「妳就是愛自找麻煩! 服什麼務?! 給妳什麼好處?! 放著大錢不賺,去做那種吃力不討好的事,妳頭殼早就壞掉了。」
"Why do you want to cause yourself those troubles? Why don't you just focus on making money through your existing talents? When you serve the others, of course you encounter difficulities and hardships more than ever!"
這樣的話我可以像想得出來,會從聽到上週的「事件」裡面的,我所熟悉的某些人們口中脫口而出。
Such words can be from those whom I have known well, after they are aware of the "incident" taking place last weekend.
我也覺得非常軌異,怎麼自己總愛自找麻煩似的。
Indeed I find myself to be quite a strange person who would like to inflict on myself burdens after burdens.
「事件」發生之後,在大都會市中心的學校裡面,面對比「事件」中的「主角們」年紀幼小大約十歲上下的學生的時候,我突然靈機一動:
After the "incident," inside the public school where I work downtown in the capital city, I have had this inspiration to test what my younger students would react if they are aware of the issues.
「能不能了解他們的看法呢?」
"May I please know what their opinions are about this incident?" I've asked myself.
這個念頭一出來,整個前景又有了不一樣的風情……
After such a thought is there, the outlook turns out to be quite magnificent.
我分了兩個步驟進行,一種是讓一些班級用「說」的,一種是讓另一些班級用「寫」的,因為我們正教到「社區」,我和小學生們說:
There are two different categories of opinions I have collected: one is verbal whle another written.
Following would be the way I intperepret this issue to my pupils because we are currently handling a chapter in their textbook called "My Neighborhood."
"On the world map, Taiwan is quite tiny. Inisde our island, we are slo closely related that we can be viewed as living amongst the same community or neighborhood, isn't it?"
「台灣在地圖上面好小好小,比一個指甲可能都比不過,所以我們大家都住在同一個社區裡面哦。」
他們若有所知點點頭。
They nod.
接著我講到:「泡芙老師(指我自己,因為和中文名字發音接近,給學生一個有趣的稱謂而已)去了一個地方,和一些大哥哥們上課,不過呀,這些人在上課的時候,讓老師感覺有點失望和難過,這樣的話,你們有沒有什麼話要和這些都在一個社區裡面的人說一下呢?」
After that, I mention briefly that "I've encountered some high school students who have made me frustrated inside the classroom where I've taught them. Is there anything you'd like to say to these people living with us in the same community or neighborhood?"
學生們開始興奮地討論,或者陷入自己的創作世界裡面……
Students then begin their heated discussions or their own world of creativity.

Following would be their "production," which are so incredible that I am amazed again by how intelligent they are and how lucky I am to be able to apprach these students of varied age groups!
接下來便是他們的文字作品呈現,現場表演及上台表演的由於牽涉到未成年學生影像問題,不擬於公開部落格中分享。
這些作品令我感到人世間的驚奇,例如這些小學低年級學生的洞察力,以及我是如此幸運,能夠與這些不同年齡層的人士們,在課間相遇……
Their opinions are with the attention they have given to my lectures, to their learning process, to their encouragement towards those who are more senior and who may, in their mind, make some troubles.
他們的圖像與文字所呈現的一樣,有著細緻而敏銳的觀察。
所以,是這一切的一切,我樂在人生的場域中,享受著服務的樂趣和欣喜。
Just like their words, their drawings are with such insight and variations motivating me to strive forward to be a better educator.
